Tabi can be seen nowadays in major brands such as Vetement, Maison Margiela, Nike, and others. Maharishi is no newcomer as it has been in the game for quite some time, it recently introduced a new pair – The 3M Chimayo Tabi, in its FW20 collection.
The pair is designed based on the traditional Japanese ‘jita-tabi’, in combination with Maharishi’s signature styling and technical approach. 3M is constructed with an all-black cotton upper, a reflective branding (inspired by the geometric weaving patterns of vintage Chimayo blankets and shawls), an air-cushioned mid-sole, and a sporty yet techy out-sole.
The exposed air cushion not only offers high-level comfort but also flexibility, better grip, and dexterity. The split-toe is not just an aesthetic approach, it actually helps to align the body by enhancing the natural movement and agility.
The extra padding on the toe and heel offers extra support to the feet, while the velcro closure allows convenience and increase comfortability.
