NIO seems to stand out of the crowded electric cars field not only in sales (and innovation) but also in the stock market. Let’s talk about its business model and why is it attracting both consumers and investors.
In China, NIO is offering its consumers an interesting battery-as-a-service program. This will reduce the car price significantly and allow consumers to upgrade/downgrade the battery capacity according to their usage or preference. Battery changing may sound like in a sci-fi movie, however, NIO has accomplished more than 800,000 battery swaps.
In addition to the monthly program, NIO is also powered by its AI voice-interaction-technology called NOMI Mate 2.0. NOMI would be your delightful digital cloud-based assistant. Other than the usual suspects like 12 premium speakers, 11.3-inch high-def touchscreen, and leather seats, it comes with an intelligent fragrance system that is “pleasing to the eye, alluring to the senses” (according to NIO’s official statement).
As for anyone who is interested in investing in NIO’s stock, this article perhaps could provide you an overview of its performance.
