London-based design studio Extans has recently launched its latest model: a sophisticated blue carbon fiber bicycle called “Akhal Sheen”. Born in 2015, the brand has been working meticulously since then on creating luxury minimalist bicycles that feature unique craftsmanship and design.
They aim for perfection and their latest product it’s not the exception. From the Latin word extant -which means “still standing”- the company aims to build unique and long lasting products using high-quality materials and components. Extans focuses on the exceptional details.
Akhal Sheen’s concept is inspired by the precision of fine jewelry, maybe one of the reasons for its beautiful and very particular navy blue tone. It is made of carbon fiber and it only weighs 21 pounds. Hold on, there are still more surprises.
Extans will only produce 19 units of this model, which features 24 karats used for the bicycle’s gold trim on the seatpost and frame. In addition, the Akhal Sheen also features other high-end tech elements in its construction, such as the Mavic Ellipse Pro Carbon UST wheelset, Pirelli P Zero tires, Shimano Dura Ace brakes, Paul Components brake levers and an FSA headset.
The seatpost and handlebars will be custom made.
On other news, Californian brand Superstrata has launched a couple of months ago the world’s first 3D-printed custom unibody carbon fiber composite bike and e-bike. You can check the full article here.
