Japanese brands Sacai and UNDERCOVER join forces once again to expand Nike’s LDWaffle “Bright Citron” lineup for 2921. Nike and Sacai’s partnership has been going for quite a while now, with great response from the sneakers community we have to say.
On the other hand, it’s not the first time that we’ve seen Nike and Undercover working together either. Last December both brands released a Kendo Martial-Art inspired techwear collection for the holiday season.
Jun Takahashi (UNDERCOVER), Chitose Abe (sacai) and Nike Sportswear‘s design team have come up with the LDWaffle “Bright Citron” concept, which features neutral tones and contrasting neon details. Abe’s signature doubled motifs and Takahashi’s strong color palette and material variations fuse together seemingly.
Take a look at the following shots:
The LDWaffle “Bright Citron” has a very similar color palette to UNDERCOVER x Nike Daybreak “Bright Citron” from 3 years ago, but there’s something very unique and distinctive about the 2021 new model. And it’s the branding. The midsole’s extended heel piece has inscripted in black all three names involved in this collaborative pair.
EVA foam was used for the midsoles and they rest above a “Bright Citron” waffle outsole. According to specialized sources, The LDWaffle “Bright Citron” will hit the stores this fall, although there are no more details about the official release date.
