A few days ago we talked about the new unconventional virtual world of NFTs. Another currency that adds up to the crypto-industry, which continues to grow everyday ーespecially since we dove into the digital world during the current pandemic.
As we explained in our previous article, NFTs can be anything, literally. From shoes to memes, from fashion to gifs. And, of course, art can also become NFTs. This is the case of Ioan Florea 3D-printed Tactile Art Collection.
Ioan Florea’s artwork features interactive GLB digital files, which is a format that is normally used in virtual and augmented reality. The GBL can then be converted to STL format to be 3D-printed. Said collection also includes the content of the physical 3D printed objects, 3D paintings on canvas and more, all of them to be unlocked.
The artist used custom 3D software, generative AI and parametric design to give life to his work. Ioan also made use of custom-modified robots and large-scale 3D printers. The abstract shapes were embedded in Florea’s 3D printed liquid metal Ford Torino and 3D printed Camaro projects.
Inspired by open source technologies, NFT was just the perfect tool for Ioan Florea to continue exploring his creativity. Colorful, powerful and passionate: that sums up Ioan Florea’s artworks DNA the best.
