After being nominated for a Dutch Design Award [Product] for its digital platform BYBORRE Create™ 一which enables creators to design and responsibly produce knitted textiles一, the label has launched a preview of its upcoming collection for next year.
While this is only a preview and the entire lookbook is yet to be unveiled, there are still a few things we can disclose about it.
Just a few days ago, BYBORRE has let us have a sneak peek of its 10th Edition collection that revolves around the power of simplicity, which explains why they have teamed up with Dutch illustrator Dick Bruna.
Bruna is in fact the creative designer behind the illustrations of @miffy_official, also known as “the genius of simplicity”, a title that has been granted by the label itself. By re-interpreting Bruna’s simplicity and signature artwork, BYBORRE came up with a minimalist, limited-palette collection using, of course, their own Create™ software tool.
From the images the label has shared, we can see that some of the designs reference past collections, such as the Open Back Vest, Layer Shirt and A-Type Jacket. The color palette is polished, clean, covering soft shades of grey and brown; while details have been kept to the minimum. There are, although, a few statement, colorful pieces like a bold patterned blue scarf.
BYBORRE’s 10th Edition is not available on the website yet (and it won’t be until Spring 2022), but you can schedule a virtual meeting with the brand to be introduced to the full capsule. What you will be able to explore any time now is their upcoming Edition9™.
In case you missed them, take a look at these other launches of the month: Y-3, Archival Reinvent and Arc’teryx.
