Japanese outerwear specialist Snow Peak has teamed up for the first time ever with expert JINS to create a one-of-a-kind, utilitarian eyewear capsule. Snow Peak’s search for the ultimate functionality and JINS’ long-time savoir-faire blend in in this “Camp and Smile” collection.
Both labels shared their field expertise to put forward a unique capsule that features optimum, functional designs and it is meant for “enjoying scenery”, as the brands stated. Resulting in four distinctive styles, the eyewear suppresses the glare of the sun and secures a clear view, guaranteeing the finest performance in any outdoor activity.
Another goal for this collaboration was set by the idea of making sunglasses more popular in the Japanese outdoor scene, as expressed on their official Instagram page.
The capsule offers options for kids, as well as three alternatives for adults, starting with the JINS×Snow Peak JINS Switch. This model provides polarized lenses and comes with switch and flip-up functions that allow the user to easily switch from glasses to sunglasses. It also has a quick-fit feature to adjust the ear point to your preferred angle.
The other style worth-mentioning is the JINS×Snow Peak Folding SUNGLASSES, which as you can figure out by the name, offers a foldable motion thanks to which the eyewear can be compacted into chest-pocket size.
In terms of aesthetic, the capsule has a minimalist, graceful approach, denoted by the earth-tones and simple, yet functional lines. Beside the subtle logo on the temple, there are no further details, but it’s worth mentioning that the eyewear comes in unique cases made of recycled tent fabric and ropes.
