Last week, we went over Snow Peak’s most recent collaboration with Japanese eyewear specialist JINS resulting in an utilitarian outdoor “Camp and Smile” capsule, featuring designs with switch and flip-up functions and foldable motions.
Now the Japanese label has unveiled a preview of its Apparel Fall/Winter 2021 collection, arriving soon in September. With focus on the relationship between people and nature, the collection is inspired by woodwork artist Takashi Tomii and his family in the city of Nagaoka, Niigata Prefecture, Japan. Tomii and his wife Miyuki craft utensils for everyday life.
Under the motto “live with loved ones in places you love”, Snow Peak introduces functional and modern gear that works for both the city and outdoor adventures, blurring the borders between these two opposite worlds. The campaign honours the raw and visceral beauty of nature, and the deep connection between people and Earth.
The Autumn/Winter campaign features signature Snow Peak pieces, as well as technical workwear-inspired garments. In the label’s words:
“This latest collection demonstrates our commitment to creating functional and stylish garments that go beyond stereotypical outdoor clothing, breaking the boundary between nature and urban life, and paying homage to traditional Japanese workwear”.
