The term staycation has become quite popular due to the pandemic and it doesn’t look like it’s going to end any time soon.
For all New York residents and US citizens planning to travel to the Big Apple, Ace Hotel Group has opened a new design boutique hotel in Brooklyn. Very well located in Boerum Hill, on the cusp of Downtown Brooklyn, the hotel is the Group’s second location in New York.
It’s situated near the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Station, the Barclays Center as well as the Brooklyn Museum and the Botanic Garden. Ace Hotel Brooklyn has been designed by architecture firm Stonehill Taylor and decorated by Roman and Williams, two longtime collaborators of the label, who are also responsible for the hotel’s Brutalist facade.
The interiors take inspiration from the European modernists artists: the hotel encompasses an enormous communal lobby, an indoor garden and a double-sided fireplace. It’s also home to a fantastic art gallery that includes a large-scale mural by American artist Stan Bitters and a light installation by Tokyo‘s Hotel Okura.
Moreover, it provides 287 guest rooms that feature incredible views of Manhattan’s cityscape, including Staten Island and the Statue of Liberty, thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows. The rooms’ aesthetics are inspired by Le Corbusier and each one of them showcases unique artworks.
The Ace Hotel Brooklyn also offers modern and comfortable communal work spaces, both indoors and outdoors, in tone with the city’s heritage. The facilities include a restaurant and bakery that goes by the name “As you Are”.
Address: Ace Hotel Brooklyn, 252 Schermerhorn St, Brooklyn, NY 11217
