Samsøe Samsøe partners with tech innovator GORE-TEX to launch its Fall/Winter 2021 capsule. The collaborative collection presents the signature Scandi style: a minimalist aesthetic, neutral tones and streamlined silhouettes make up for this new release.
The collection features a range of waterproof and windproof outerwear for both women and men. Samsøe Samsøe AW21 capsule is divided into two lines 一[GORE-TEX Infinium Comfort & Performance] and [GORE-TEX Guaranteed To Keep You Dry]一 equally functional and technical.
To launch the campaign, the Danish brand Samsøe Samsøe decided to collaborate with digital artist Yilmaz Sen, who elaborated a series of videos using 3D technology: while models pose in the digital world, virtual rain and wind try to battle the unmoved weatherproof garments.
Samsøe Samsøe and GORE-TEX Studio provide a variety of innovative, engineered styles. It’s worth highlighting the oversized Cloud coat and vest, lined and padded with PrimaLoft insulation, from the women’s collection. And the breathable Tony shirt jacket also featuring PrimaLoft insulation from the men’s line.
Another mentionable item is the men’s Norton blazer 11684: with wind and water repellent properties, the blazer features a notched lapel collar and soft unstructured fit, with utilitarian pockets inside and outside. The FW21 release includes outdoor accessories too, such as hats, bags and mitten gloves, in GORE-TEX fabric as well.
The use of this technical material has allowed the Scandinavian brand to lower the environmental impact of its jackets, as it reduced the use of chemical compounds on the making of the garments. Sober shades of khaki, beige, black and green paint the new timeless collection.
You can find Samsøe Samsøe’s new capsule in both online and physical stores, with prices ranging between $100 USD and $1300 USD. Speaking of GORE-TEX, Craghoppers and Reebok have also dabbled in the use of this technical material.
