Renault has been celebrating its 60th anniversary with different versions and artistic approaches of its iconic 4L car, including the SUITE N°4: a hotel room in wheels made by French designer Mathieu Lehannuer’s .
Renault’s lastest creation has revealed a collaboration with innovative design studio TheArsenale, where the result brought to life the AIR4 car. The AIR4 is a flying vehicle based on the 4L car’s model.
In simple words, the AIR4 combines the traditional, signature and so coveted elements of the 4L car along with a futuristic approach that is envisioned by the flying vehicle features. It’s a re-interpretation of such an iconic car, this time thinking about the future, which according to Renault and TheArsenale won’t take place on earth, but on air. In their own words:
WHERE THEARSENALE AND RENAULT ARE GOING, THEY DON’T NEED ROADS.
Reanult
The AIR4 is powered by 22,000mAh lithium-polymer batteries that generate 90,000mAh of power. The horizontal top speed is 26m/s and it can fly at heights of up to 700m. The AIR4 is made of carbon fiber, a material that makes the car quite light.
Far from what one may think, this is actually a feasable version of the car, so it is not so crazy to think that it might hit the streets -sorry, the air- one day.
Since Monday November 29, Renault’ AIR4 will be able to visit at Atelier Renault on the Champs Elysées in Paris. The car will be on display until the end of the year, along with other iconic versions of the 4L. On 2022, all these models will be transfered for display to Miami, New York and fianlly Macau.
