Kanuk has become synonymous with quality, durability and sustainability. Based in Montreal, Canada, Kanuk is a techwear brand specialized in outerwear and you could say it has become a staple during Canada’s harsh weather season.
This winter, the brand has expanded its range to the US, especially to New York City. This is the label’s first store not only in New York City, but in the entire country as well.
The new store will be found in Soho and it will hold both the first transitional collection and its Fall/Winter 2021 Core Collection too. The first one encompasses gear that has been designed specifically for the fall, while the second collection is meant to protect the wearer from the most harsh winter weather.
The brand’s DNA is a mixture of craftsmanship and technical materials, while at the same time it combines post-modern, futuristic designs. The new Soho store was brought to life by award-winning architecture studio Atelier Barda, who takes inspiration from Montreal’s weather and the brand’s Canadian roots.
In collaboration with studio Atelier Barda, Derek Porter studio and James Clotfelter Lighting Design have also helped imagine the space and particularly the lighting.
Kanuk’s New York City store will feature signature, exclusive styles. You can find more information about the opening store here.
