HAVEN has finally launched its own footwear line beginning with its first debut: the new Catalyst Boot. So far, HAVEN had never had its own footwear collection and up until now any occasional release was a product of a collaboration.
In the past, the Canadian-based brand has joined forces with many footwear labels, such as New Balance, Dr. Martens and Converse, among others. Yet the time has come and HAVEN has released for the first time ever its own HAVEN Footwear Program.
Combining the brand’s core values 一luxury level craftsmanship, technology, performance and functionality一, the Catalyst Boot is born. The Catalyst Boot is handcrafted in Oné Di Fonte, in Italy, and it’s part of the Fall/Winter 2021 collection.
The new Catalyst Boot features a base made of durable and soft Kudu suede fabric, which is sourced in Africa by UK-based tannery Charles F. Stead and Co Ltd., and a lining made of leather. The footwear is then topped off with custom made YKK Excella™ zippers on the medial walls.
While the eyelets are proof of the hiking-inspired design approach, the high-cut silhouette shows the influence of the classic Canadian military combat boot. Breathability is provided with subtle perforations on the tongues and around the collars.
In addition, further functionality is provided by the outsoles made of Vibram’s New Winkler, which offer stability and grip. The midsole units and heel counters, on the other hand, are designed using Zeppa NG5, which provides comfort and traction too.
As the brand itself describes it, the debuting footwear is a 3-season boot, both versatile and utilitarian. The timeless and lightweight Catalyst Boot comes in two colorways: Black and Wolf Grey. And it is available on HAVEN’s online store for $635 USD.
