The North Face Purple Label has recently unveiled a preview of its Spring/Summer 2022 collection and there’s a lot to talk about. Before we dive into the details of the upcoming collection, let’s do a recap.
The director behind The North Face Purple Label is Eiichiro Homma, a name you probably recall from another well-known Japanese brand. And yes, you stand correctly. Eiichiro Homma is also the creative mind behind Tokyo-based outdoor label nanamica, which is in fact his own brand.
nanamica has also recently unveiled its SS22 collection, which you can take a look at here.
As well as nanamica, The North Face Purple Label 一or TNFPL一 has become a highly coveted label thanks to its stylish, functional gear and its impressive collaborations. And the new Spring/Summer 2022 collection is yet another nailed release.
Under the theme “Heart of the Wind”, TNFPL releases colorful, technical outdoor gear inspired by the Japanese menswear heavy-duty look during the 70s.
The SS22 collection still keeps the label’s signature slouchy silhouettes and relaxed fit, which this season are accompanied by oversized cuts and bold colors, such as blue, mustard, pink and purple, among others. Denim, tie-dye and floral prints can also be found in this new release.
The whole collection recalls a vintage/retro aesthetic, but it does not compromise the garments’ functionality or performance. The first glance we are given of The North Face Purple Label SS22 is the classic 65/35 Big Mountain Parka in a bright purple tone, paired with a 8oz L/S Football Tee and Denim Field Hat.
There is still no official release date, but stay tuned with us for the latest news. In the meantime, check out HAVEN’s new footwear program debuting with the Catalyst Boot.
