A new year has begun and techwear labels are piling up to show their newest Spring/Summer 2022 collections: The North Face Purple with its colorful, retro release, Stone Island with its 40th anniversary capsule and nanamica with its functional, inclusive collection.
Now, joining the list, is Japanese streetwear brand NEIGHBORHOOD founded by Shinsuke Takizawa in the early 90s. For the first collection of this new year, NEIGHBORHOOD reimagines signature archival styles, a release that is led by the “B. STADIUM / WCL JACKET”.
This first style has been previewed at the label’s official Instagram account only two days ago, and it showcases a varsity jacket made of wool in dark gray tones and a contrasting white skeleton design overlayed on the front and back. The “B. STADIUM / WCL JACKET” also has flexible, leather sleeves in black tones.
According to NEIGHBORHOOD, this is a limited edition design and only 84 are available for purchase. Each piece will feature its respective number embroidered on the quilted inner lining.
NEIGHBORHOOD’s SS22 collection also includes a “BOOZE . BIG 4Q / CE-INCENSE CHAMBER”, which is also limited to only 50 pieces. The item references a design from 2016, which is now reimagined in a 50cm tall incense that has been marked by founder Takizawa himself.
Regarding the prices, the “B. STADIUM / WCL JACKET” has a cost of ¥119,900 (about $1040 USD), while the “BOOZE . BIG 4Q / CE-INCENSE CHAMBER” is sold for ¥88,000 JPY (about $765 USD). Both items are sold out at the moment.
